About Me

Social Impact & Civic Leadership

Bernard's commitment to community is as foundational as his creative work. During an 11-year hiatus from entertainment, he led civic engagement initiatives and helped nonprofits overcome severe financial deficits through program refinement, strategic partnerships, and national economic empowerment programs reaching over 360,000 students and their communities. He has supported initiatives including AAMBAA Wharton at UPenn, the Judge Mathis Foundation, the Rainbow Push Foundation, and the Right to Return initiative following Hurricane Katrina. Today, he serves in a strategic fundraising and growth capacity for The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential (IAHP), a nonprofit dedicated to treating brain-injured children. He was also a founding board member of the Being Beautiful Foundation and mentors young entrepreneurs throughout the country and abroad.

Creative Leadership & Media

As Founder and CEO of Huemarkable, Inc., Bernard is reshaping multicultural storytelling in entertainment through a pioneering independent studio and creative platform. Huemarkable supports the development of documentary, narrative, and commercial content, with a mission to amplify underrepresented voices across film, music, and television. His recent work includes developing a documentary treatment for a film about HBCU women's basketball and producing multi-channel content strategy for emerging artists. Bernard brings both creative and commercial acumen to every project — having spent four years producing music for two hit TV sitcoms and served clients across MTV, VH1, Warner Brothers Television, and Miramax Films. He also works with athletes and entertainers as a business advisor.

Investment & Innovation

Bernard is a tech and real estate investor and co-founder of Pathway to Growth Fund, LLC (PTGF), a mission-driven secured lending entity that provides capital to purpose-aligned organizations. Through Impact Ark Advisors, he has built an ecosystem where mission-driven organizations can access the financial and operational infrastructure they need to thrive, bridging the gap between profit and social impact. His investment philosophy centers on backing visionary founders and leaders who see opportunities others miss, with a portfolio spanning commercial real estate, consumer technology, and media.

Music & Entertainment

With nearly 30 years in the entertainment industry, Bernard is an acclaimed multi-platinum producer who has shaped some of hip hop's most defining moments. He co-founded Black Friday Productions, developing artists including Beanie Sigel, Eve, Foxy Brown, Freeway, and State Property, and was part of the teams behind the second and third female hip hop albums to debut at #1 in Billboard history. He developed 60% of Jay-Z's Roc-A-Fella Records roster and produced for Grammy-winning artists including Jay-Z and Sting. His return to music in 2013 yielded another milestone: Guordan Banks became the first independent artist to reach #1 on Billboard's Adult R&B chart. Across his career, Bernard has contributed to 97 commercially released projects spanning music, television, and film — including composing music for over 99 episodes of the then #1 and #2 African American sitcoms on network television.

l(if)e

“What If? Bearing Witness to Heal”

In West Philadelphia, the sirens never really stop.

Neither does the silence that follows.

When gun violence claimed his closest creative partner, acclaimed music producer Bernard Parker was left with something the headlines never account for: the haunting, unrelenting question of what if?

From a childhood shaped by a grandmother’s love and the sound of vinyl on a turntable, to the heights of producing for Jay-Z, Sting, and the Roc-A-Fella roster, to the darkness of unprocessed grief — l(if)e takes readers through the full arc of a life interrupted, and ultimately, reclaimed.

Parker gives voice to the millions of witnesses in America’s urban communities who absorbed trauma in silence — who were never told they were victims, and who never received the help they deserved. This is not just one man’s story. It is a reckoning with guilt, grief, purpose, and the extraordinary power of bearing witness to your own healing.
